Overview
Lifandi needs to be worked on in stages and milestones. Each should build upon the work in the last.
Phases
First Milestone
This is essentially a more intense version of the oc2e tech demo. The following need to be accomplished for this milestone.
Base Creature Genome Established
This would be a very bland and generalized genome with a few possible instincts. It can be modified easily, and is a bare minimum of functional biochemistry, nuerology, instincts, and scripts to stay alive and reproduce, while still being a complete creature.
Small-scale Room System is functioning
The world-balancing functionality as outlined on Design_Philosophy#Ecological_Design is in place, as well as meteorological and hydrological cycle features. This need not be on any large scale.
Debug wind direction, velocity, temperature, humidity, and whatnot visualization functionality should also be in place.
The Resource manager that sums resource totals around the world and subtracts or adds amounts to restore the world to overall balance should also be implemented at this point.
A Prototype World Expansion Slot
A demo of adding and removing a "cave" metaroom to the world on the fly while. It need not be final, only report a new area to the resource managed, and link the metaroom somehow into overall global resource exchange system.
